Solid gym. Great coaches who actually know their stuff and push you to get better. No ego, just hard work and good people. Clean facility and legit training all around. If you’re in Waco and want real MMA training, this is the spot. 💪
This place was awesome! Coach Turner was very gracious to allow me (a truck driver just passing through) to come train for a beginner Jujitsu class. He was very knowledgeable and he made the class fun and interactive as well as the senior students being willing to help coach us newbies to not get hurt. 10/10 I recommend this place to anyone. I guarantee you’ll walk away having learned something!
Coaches very knowledgeable and respectful. Artists teaching their craft in a family friendly atmosphere. after 3 Muay Thai classes, I can already tell I made the right decision, cant wait for the other classes
Received a warm welcome as a drop in From CT. Great gym and fantastic instruction. Thanks for the tips - I had a blast!
An amazing gym for both Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. Ive trained in several different styles including my 6 years in the Marine Corps Martial Arts program and this gym is filled with great instructors with a healthy attitude towards training. I personally train here with all 3 of my kids and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Frequently Asked Questions
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?
Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Martial arts of Waco. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?
No experience necessary! Martial arts of Waco welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?
Most students at Martial arts of Waco train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.
DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?
Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Martial arts of Waco. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
