Why This Show Exists

Born from a thousand stories Kenny couldn't stop hearing.

For two decades, Kenny Kim traveled the world teaching and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In every academy, in every city, the same thing kept happening: people pulled him aside to tell him how the mats had saved them. Veterans who came home carrying PTSD. People fighting depression, addiction, suicidal thoughts. Students who walked in broken and walked out, year by year, someone new.

“I wish I had a camera, so I could share these stories with the rest of the world.”— Kenny Kim, on the moment MatMade was born

That one thought became the MatMade Show. In each episode, Kenny lands in a new city, finds the gym at the heart of its jiu jitsu community, and sits down with the people whose lives were rebuilt there — then explores the food, the fun, and the culture that make each stop unforgettable. Co-hosts like UFC veteran Din Thomas and 7-time world champion Milton Bastos ride along.

The mission has never changed: motivate one more person to step onto the mat — because every story in this series started with someone who almost didn't. Season 2 goes international, tracing jiu jitsu back to its source: the Gracie family and the century of history that built the art.
