⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I brought my son and daughter for their first jujutsu class and had a great experience. The instructors were very welcoming, patient, and took the time to help my kids feel comfortable while learning the basics. The environment was positive and encouraging, which made a big difference for their first class. Both of them kids left smiling and excited to come back. We’re really looking forward to starting classes next week. Highly recommend for any parents looking to get their kids into martial arts!

I am current visiting for work from Houston, Texas. I have been training for six weeks at this point. Marcus allowed me to come train with him and his students for the day and I’m so thankful that he did. I really enjoyed the beginners and advanced class. Marcus and his students are welcoming and encouraging. Anyone who is looking to get into BJJ, whether you have experience or not, I encourage you to check out this gym. Thank you again for the opportunity!

Professor Eric has been an incredible coach for my daughter over the past three years. Since joining his program, she has grown tremendously in both skill and confidence. His positivity, patience, and dedication create an environment where she feels supported and motivated. We are truly grateful for the impact he has had on her growth and development. Highly recommend this school.

I visited Marcus Antelante BJJ for the first time and had a great experience. Marcus Antelante was very welcoming, and the atmosphere felt friendly from the moment I walked in. The training partners were respectful, skilled, and pushed the pace without any ego. I’d definitely recommend this gym to anyone serious about improving their jiu-jitsu.

As a new student, I have to say that the environment is fantastic. The professors are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend to anyone on the fence about starting their own training journey!

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at MA BJJ Academy. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! MA BJJ Academy welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at MA BJJ Academy train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at MA BJJ Academy. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
