Reviews
Trained here for over two years with my children until moving. Had the Honor of receiving my blue belt under world champion coach Jose. I have been in martial arts over 5 years and this is hands down the best gym i have been to. Extremely family friendly. Truly felt like family not just a gym. Recommend this gym to anyone looking to get top class training from champions!
Awesome gym. Family friendly and world class teaching. My husband and our two children trained here for 2 years. Our son was the youngest to train here starting at only 3 years old. Our children grew in knowledge and confidence. Highly recommend to anyone seeking high quality training open to the whole family.
kato jiu jitsu has been an absolute blessing for our family. our daughter has attended various formated classes from little kids beginners to more involved and targeted tournament ready training.. my daughter is 5 years old and has been at kato since she could start at 3yrs old. I cannot express how beneficial this training has been for her and our family. all of the coaches are highly skilled and very good with both kids and adults. we have always felt very welcomed, treated with kindness and respect. communication with the business is easy and prompt. I love the community of people at kato jiu jitsu, I feel comfortable having my daughter there in a safe place and that’s the biggest consideration for me. 10/10 would recommend! and a special shoutout to coach nate for keeping this littles on the mat and working hard!!!!
Our two boys have been at Kato Jiu Jitsu for about a year now and both have been loving it. The boys look forward to the variety of classes offered from gi and no gi classes to striking, mma and wrestling. They are constantly excited for the next class. It has been great for the entire family!

Frequently Asked Questions
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?
Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Kato Jiu Jitsu. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?
No experience necessary! Kato Jiu Jitsu welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?
Most students at Kato Jiu Jitsu train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.
DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?
Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Kato Jiu Jitsu. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
