My child absolutely loves the Little Ninja class! The instructors are patient, encouraging, and make learning both fun and disciplined. I can already see positive changes in confidence, focus, and respect. It’s wonderful to have a program that balances skill-building with life lessons. We’re really happy to be part of the Kanjizai community!

We are loving our first month of jiu jitsu with Sensei Kevin and look forward to growing with the Kanjizai Academy! Little brother is itching to get on the mat with the big kids.

Extremely attentive and didactic instructor during my first class. He explained everything with a lot of patience and clarity. I felt comfortable from the start and left the class feeling curious and excited to continue.

My son has been attending for a year, he has improved in many ways, showed more confidence, Improved his grades at school and never gets in trouble . He’s is 14th going to 15 and is the best decision I made for an after school program. The teachers and the community are extremely supportive and talented.

Our family has been going to Kanjizai for a while now. We really enjoy it and our kids get a lot out of it. Sensei Kevin is so great with them. He is just firm enough to keep class on track but also exhibits a high degree of patience with them. I love to watch him teach a class and I really value the diversity that is offered here. I highly recommend checking it out!

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Kanjizai Academy of Jiu-Jitsu. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! Kanjizai Academy of Jiu-Jitsu welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at Kanjizai Academy of Jiu-Jitsu train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Kanjizai Academy of Jiu-Jitsu. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
