About ATOS JIU JITSU Of CHARLOTTE

At ATOS JIU JITSU Of CHARLOTTE, we're an independent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym dedicated to serving adult students who want to learn authentic, effective grappling. We provide a structured training environment where students of all experience levelsโ€”from complete beginners to advanced practitionersโ€”can develop real martial arts skills. Our gym is committed to building a strong community of athletes who value discipline, continuous improvement, and the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We believe in technical excellence and thoughtful instruction that respects the depth of BJJ. Our approach emphasizes fundamental positions, pressure-tested techniques, and progressive skill development rather than rushing students through ranks. The atmosphere here is focused and supportiveโ€”we push each other to improve while maintaining the respect that defines the martial arts community. Training sessions are designed to challenge you appropriately, whether you're rolling for the first time or refining advanced positions.

Our Adult BJJ program is ideal for anyone looking for a serious martial arts practice, whether your goals are self-defense, competition, fitness, or the personal growth that comes from mastering a complex discipline. We welcome working professionals, athletes cross-training from other sports, and anyone ready to commit to learning. Classes are structured to accommodate different schedules and skill levels, so you can train consistently and progress at your own pace within our community.

Fernando is a talented and committed instructor who cares deeply about the progress and well-being of all his students. As an accomplished black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he knows what he is talking about, but he also has the teaching skills to communicate lessons to his students. I train there with my two sons and all of us enjoy our time on the mat and the experience of being part of the community at the academy.

Not only is FLVBJJ a great place to learn for people just starting out in Jiu-Jitsu; it is great for people who have had some level of training and are looking to get their BJJ to the next level. Fernando offers instruction for beginners as well as people looking to compete at high levels of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I've had experiences at others schools before and Fernando's detailed instruction as his intensity for competition driven students has brought out the best in my performance. I am definitely happy I made the move to Fernando Loor Vera Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Very impressive academy! I would highly recommend this instructor! As a practioner of Jujitsu in another state, I was curious about how other schools operate, function, respond to outsiders, customer/ teacher/ student behavior . I arrived 5 min into his first younger class and was so surprised at how well the 7 year old students knew their stuff. Mr Fernando worked with ea student, breaking down the basics in such a easy manner for the children to understand. His friendly encouragement and humble attitude was most impressive. At this point I was so impressed I had to stay and watch another. During the break he took time to great everyone and welcome me. Then adult class began. His pleasant and cheerful attitude was reflected in his adult students as well. Start to finish, he is a first class professional and truly knows his Jujitsu. Best of all , he knows how to teach it where everyone can understand. By the end , I wanted to join! And I live 5 hours away. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Wade A. From Scott dep

Fernando runs a great gym. He does a thorough job of coaching and breaking down technique to make sure all of his students properly execute the dayโ€™s training. In addition he has built a solid community of more experienced members that also go above and beyond to help out others.
