My training under coach Joe Nicols and Professor Daniel Wanderley is the best martial arts instruction I have ever received. I started training in the martial arts at five years old and I am a Marine Corps veteran and private sector security professional. The knowledge they have given to me has been life changing and life saving on multiple levels. It is the most welcoming and Inclusive environment I’ve ever been in, in regard to training and consider them not only friends but family. Don’t listen to fake troll accounts from competitors who are flat out lying.
Amazing place! Clean, kind and caring! I’ve been here for over a year and a half. Lots of class options for Brazilian jujitsu, kickboxing and MMA. The people are amazing and encouraging! Professor Daniel and Coach Joe are extremely knowledgeable and truly want you to strive! They support you, push you and make you stronger! This place feels like home with one big happy family. Love them all :)
Very friendly environment. Coaches are always ensure everyones’ safety first. My son is really enjoying the training. I hope he will expand soon, though. Lol
Hands down, the best Jiu Jitsu gym in the state! I’ve always wanted to learn from Professor Wanderley since I began training in Jiu Jitsu five years ago, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. Every time I step on the mats, I learn something new. The instruction, atmosphere, and attention to detail have helped me grow tremendously — both as a person and as a martial artist. I highly recommend this gym to anyone, whether you’re a dedicated hobbyist or an aspiring competitor.
I dropped in at Wanderley Jiu-Jitsu Academy and had an awesome experience! Both Professor Daniel Wanderley, the Jiu-Jitsu and MMA head coach, and Coach Nichols, the striking coach, were incredible. The training was great, and the environment at the gym was super welcoming and motivating. Highly recommend checking it out!
Frequently Asked Questions
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?
Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Wanderley Jiu Jitsu. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?
No experience necessary! Wanderley Jiu Jitsu welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?
Most students at Wanderley Jiu Jitsu train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.
DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?
Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Wanderley Jiu Jitsu. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
