Victory BJJ
About Victory BJJ
Victory Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is based in Albany, New York, and is led by head instructor Victor McLeod, a black belt who began his BJJ journey in 1996 after watching Royce Gracie compete in the early UFC. McLeod trained under Roberto 'Maguilla' Marques DaSilva, a 4th-degree black belt with direct lineage to Carlson Gracie Sr., and earned his black belt in 2007. He also holds brown belt rankings in both Judo and Karate.
The gym offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense, sport grappling, and MMA competition, with classes available for men, women, and children across all experience levels, from beginners to competitive grapplers. McLeod's teaching approach emphasizes technical precision and strategy, helping students develop control and finishing ability regardless of size or athletic background. The team actively competes at NAGA tournaments throughout the region.
Reviews
Amazing environment, great instructor. My daughter has improved so much with her jujitsu and kick boxing skills. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. Thank you, Master Chris.ππβοΈ
Master Chris is an amazing instructor for children of all ages and adults! I would highly recommend
Master Chris is amazing and all around a wholesome person. All my children, as well as every other kid, teen and adult I see there; all adore him. He really knows his stuff, and can read individual people(children); and able to adjust to their needs when it comes to teaching and instructing. Not only will you be versed in whichever form of martial arts you'd like to venture into, but you'll bring home a better version of yourself everything you meet π€
Both my son and I attend VMA. My son has gained confidence and has made many new friends. As for the adult class, the instructors will push you beyond your capabilities and give you the ultimate workout. We love it, Chris and Luke!!!
My boys have been going for several months and we see such an improvement in their overall confidence. Chris is awesome with all of the kids and really knows how to motivate them. We're very happy with our decision to join VMA.
