If you haven’t been to the Yoga Room @ USMMA what are you waiting for?! I’ve been attending yoga classes at USMMA on and off for 15 years. I recently tried out the Hot Pilates class and I can’t get enough. The teachers are the best around and they helped me practice through two pregnancies. They’re so knowledgeable and offer many different modifications to fit your body’s needs. The owners are spectacular, friendly and authentic. They truly care about their community. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you’re reading this, it’s time to give it a try!
USMMA is an absolute gem! My son has been doing boxing here for over a year and loves it! He is always excited to go. His instructor is inspiring and has helped him grow physically, mentally, and in confidence. I recently joined for hot Pilates and I am obsessed! The burn is amazing, the classes are empowering, and the energy is nothing but positive. I leave every class feeling strong and uplifted. I can already tell how pilates will help my body in my daily life. The owners and staff are wonderful, the people are so nice, and the community is truly welcoming. I’ve wanted to give USMMA a try for some time and decided yesterday the day had come . My first class Hot Yoga was quite challenging but taught with clear instructions and invitations to do what works for you! Today another class , very different but as top notch and offered a different challenge. Owners so nice and welcoming . I’m glad I purchased new member offer and will try to get as many classes as I can for the next two weeks !
Life happens and I needed a positive outlet to dig into. I didn’t know how I would be received as I am not the athletic type of guy. Upon entering the gym in the middle of a class (Tom - owner) left his class to greet me and give me a tour and talk about what I was looking for and I signed up that day and have not turned back. Him and his wife and his team are so gracious. I’ve only been here for a couple weeks but I have learned so much and my health is already improving and pounds are coming off. The classes go beyond the mat and into your day to day tasks. I finally found the outlet I needed to anchor myself in that affects me in a positive holistic way.
I’ve been going to USMMA for almost 5 years now. Tom and Danielle have created an amazing place. I’ve been involved in some sort of combat sport my entire life and have been to countless gyms. I can confidently say their programs are top tier. The jiujitsu, striking, yoga and Pilates are all fantastic. Safe to say I will always be a member of USMMA! I have recommended multiple friends and got both my siblings to sign up. Love this place!

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO START TRAINING BJJ?
Not at all! USMMA Martial Arts and Yoga welcomes complete beginners. We offer introductory classes specifically designed to teach the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe, supportive environment. Everyone starts somewhere, and our coaches will guide you every step of the way.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
For your first visit, comfortable athletic wear such as shorts and a rash guard works perfectly. Once you train regularly, you'll want a gi (BJJ uniform). We train gi here — our coaches can point you toward the right gear.
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?
Yes! We encourage you to try a class before committing. Contact USMMA Martial Arts and Yoga to schedule your complimentary intro class and experience our training environment for yourself.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN AS A BEGINNER?
Most beginners see strong progress training 2-3 times per week. Consistency matters more than volume early on. As your conditioning improves, many students increase to 4-5 sessions per week.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A BLUE BELT IN BJJ?
On average, dedicated students earn their blue belt in 1-2 years of consistent training. Progression depends on mat time, active learning, and open rolling. Each stripe reflects real skill growth.
