I went looking looking for a grappling coach for my son and after trying out a couple of place I was recommended Coach Heart. I called the Base and we started doing private grappling lessons. From the first moment my son set foot in the dojo, he was treated like he was family. Every single lesson has been a experience for him. He loves going, and give it his all. After 4 months of lessons my son is having a blast he has improved 100% and he enjoys going. Now my husband goes too, I cannot say enough about the Ryan and Amy !!! This place is for eveyone!!

I’ve had my children attend jiu jitsu classes at the Base since its inception. I met the owners Amy and Ryan prior to opening at another gym and through conversation and my own experience found them to be totally legit. Believe me I wouldn’t have just anybody training my kids. Knowing they live jiu jitsu and mma, plus the fact they have trained with some of my UFC hero’s sealed the deal. Watching them with my kids and how they are with all the kids proves to me why they are so successful in my neck of the woods. My wife and I actually have given up ideas of moving away because of the relationship. I hope this helps you with your decision to train there yourself or bring your children. God Bless

Kiddo's first class here, women's only self-defense, after transferring from a different academy. Instantly comfortable with the instructor and working with an adult just made her go harder. Pros... -Two black belt instructors, a married couple. -Rates are REALLY reasonable, especially for what you get! -For us, enrolling our daughter gets us access to the fully equipped gym. -For kiddo, she can take as many classes as she wants for no added fee... she's aiming for TEN classes per week! -Above a certain age... twelve I think, but not certain, and on the ok of the instructors... kids can join adult classes for advanced training. Cons... None yet!

Great place to go and learn a skill you didn't know you needed or wanted! I'm an autoimmune arthritic 38 year old, never imagined I would want to do something like ju-jitsu let alone think I could do anything like this! My husband found it through reviews for one of our kids, it's really boosted her self esteem and she has fun doing something that really works muscle groups that normally don't get the attention they need. My husband use to train at team quest many, many years ago, maybe decades and knows that coach Ryan is legit. I just started going because they have free women's defense classes on Sundays so I figured I would give it a try. I thought every negative thing like my body isn't like the other women's, I don't have the strength, I'm two footed, no balance etc.. I ended up liking the class and guess what?! I worked at my pace with my ability and got hooked on the class! You aren't there to beat someone up(unless you are training for MMA) but you learn a skill so you have that as a tool in your belt if your ever attacked and to train those muscles (in my case non muscle) to be able to be more agile, flexible and stronger. Since doing that class, I've dedicated myself to lifting weights and trying to gain muscle while doing what I can with what I have, not pining after what I don't have. The class gave me more confidence in my ability to learn something new and step out of my comfort zone. Also a great community of humans ❤️ Plus little Darth Vader likes to visit and balance on their balance ball 😂

Our kids have been training at The Base for a couple of years and it has made a really positive impact on their lives and ours. The coaches are patient, caring, and truly invested in the kids. Running it is an awesome family who does a great job and makes it a really supportive place.
