The Academy of Martial Arts - Monument Jiu-Jitsu
Reviews
My son and I have been training jiujitsu @ The Academy of Martial Arts for 4 years. This place is our 3rd space and a true second home. Professor Tom and the entire staff have built an amazing culture here that builds people up and encourages them to grow. We have also taken advantage of their other classes here including yoga and judo. I can’t say enough good about the friends I have made and the impact The Academy has had one our family. Come give it a trial and you will understand.
My son has been attempting classes here since he was four and had really grown in his character and skill under their leadership. Tom, Krista, and the entire staff is so helpful and kind. It’s a friendly and values first organization. But they never skip on the toughness and confidence required when engaging in Martial Arts.
Our kids (11 son, 8 daughter, and 5 daughter) started attending classes at The Academy of Martial Arts two and half years ago. They have loved it since day one. The coaches are fantastic, taking the time to learn the kids' names and personalities. The classes are well structured, allowing students the opportunity to learn and refine their skills in a clean, safe environment. After several months of watching the kids, I started attending the adult classes. In addition to learning BJJ and getting a great workout when I train, I really appreciated the community that Professor Tom has created. This sense of community is evident whenever you interact with the people who train here, and this academy has been a real blessing to our family.
I've been training here for 3 months now and also have my child in the kids program. The people you meet here are absolutely the most supportive and amazing group you could surround yourself with. The instruction is world-class and accessible wherever you are starting. The kids program coaches show great care and patience working with the children and also take the time to instill moral lessons during the class. If you are interested in bjj or martial arts in general for yourself or your child, come here and I bet you won't look back.
My son and I recently started training at The Academy of Martial Arts, and we couldn’t be happier. From day one, everyone — from the coaches to the other students — made us feel welcome. The environment is incredibly friendly, supportive, and focused on growth. The coaching staff is knowledgeable, patient, and great at breaking things down for beginners while still challenging more experienced students. You can tell they truly care about every person on the mat and take the time to get to know everyone by name. It’s more than just a place to train — it’s a community that encourages discipline, confidence, and respect. I’d highly recommend The Academy of Martial Arts to anyone looking to learn BJJ in a positive and motivating environment.
