Strive has been amazing for our family. Coach Jackson and Coach Meredith do an incredible job with the young kids. They keep them engaged, learning, and having fun. Coach Meredith and Coach Jackson are fantastic at explaining techniques in a way the kids really understand. As a parent, I’m so happy and grateful that both coaches have taught my kids at 2 and 4 years old. The professionalism, patience, and care they show truly sets Strive apart.
There isn't enough space to express how amazing this academy has been for me and my family. My son takes the kids jiu jitsu class here and it has been amazing to watch his growth and development since he has been coming. All of the coaches foster a caring environment while pushing each kid to their very best. They understand kids aren't 'one size fits all' and work with each kid to the best of their ability. All the other kids are encouraging and are great role models for the younger children as well. I train in the adult classes and can't recommend this place enough as a place to train striking and jiu jitsu. The coaches are fantastic, the teammates are welcoming and helpful, no one will ever make you feel out of place here! And they do a 1 week trial for anyone who wants to start!
Dropped in for an 11 am class. Everyone was friendly, professor was attentive and welcoming. Gym was large and clean. Definitely will train here again.
We can’t say enough great things about Strive Jiu-Jitsu! Our 7-year-old son, who has ADHD and Autism, has absolutely thrived here. From day one, the coaches have been incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive. They truly take the time to connect with him, and it shows in his progress both on and off the mat. Since joining, we’ve noticed significant improvements in his ability to follow rules and routines—not just during class but in his everyday life as well. It’s been amazing to see him so excited to attend each session, feeling confident and proud of what he’s learning. Strive Jiu-Jitsu has been a game-changer for our family, and we couldn’t be more grateful. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares and understands how to support kids with unique needs, look no further. We highly recommend it!
Strive has been my Jiu Jitsu home since 2019. Professor Manny and Coach Meredith have built and maintained an environment and culture where positivity flourishes and personal growth is guaranteed. If you want to learn how to protect yourself and the people you love, Strive is the place to do it. If you want your kids to learn how to be respectful and physically capable while having a blast with their friends, Strive is the place to take them. Nothing but love and hard work at this place!
Frequently Asked Questions
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?
Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Strive Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Academy. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?
No experience necessary! Strive Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Academy welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?
