Since we started training here, our experience with jiu-jitsu has been amazing. The instructor doesn’t just teach techniques — he truly teaches discipline, respect, and the real values of jiu-jitsu. The environment is welcoming and motivating, and there is genuine care for every student, no matter their level. We’ve noticed a big improvement not only physically, but mentally as well — more focus, confidence, and discipline. We’re very happy to be part of this academy and highly recommend it!

As an engineer, I’ve been looking for a gym that values structure, feedback, and continuous improvement—and this place nails it. The coaches provide personalized guidance and clear feedback, and the room is filled with practitioners of all levels who are eager to learn and help each other grow. Training balances slow, intentional movement and fundamentals with precise, competitive rounds. Technical, thoughtful, and welcoming—exactly what I was looking for. Top tier gym right here👌🔥

The owner Ricardo and his wife always treat us with true hospitality when we visit. Clean mats/faculty with a safe & fun environment for all ages. Coach Ricardo goes above and beyond with his classes and accepts people with warmth and respect. My husband and son are beyond grateful to be training at Solid Base. We highly recommend this academy to anyone with all skill levels. This will be the place for you!! #TEAMSOLIDBASE

Amazing school and even more amazing teacher. Don’t hesitate to take your children to learn from Ricardo. He’ll turn them into champions. My son has been in school for over a year and his confidence has grown more than we could ever imagine. He just turned grey belt and looking forward to more belts👊. We appreciate everything Ricardo has done and trust me when I say this, this school is worth a look.

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Solid Base Bjj. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! Solid Base Bjj welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at Solid Base Bjj train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Solid Base Bjj. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
