An awesome place to train and meet amazing down to earth people—and if jujitsu isn’t your thing they offer great alternatives like yoga, striking , and even a gym space for your own quick workouts. Also if you have a family it’s a great place to get your little ones involved in a martial art. The owner and his wife are welcoming and supportive. One of the best gyms in Louisville hands down. Try it out for yourself they offer a free trial too. 🤙🏾

We started our now-five-year-old son at Rough Hands when he was 4. He loves going and always asks if "today is a jiu jitsu day." The coaches are great with kids and do a nice job tailoring their instruction so it's appropriate for the different age groups. It's a great place to get their energy out while also learning how to follow directions from a coach and work with others. It's also a really welcoming environment that I'm glad my son gets to spend time in every week.

Rough Hands is a great place to train. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, you will feel comfortable training at Rough Hands. I have trained BJJ for 15 years and at several different schools, Rough Hands is one of the most welcoming and chill places I have been. I would give Jesse and the whole Rough Hands crew 10 stars if that was an option. Alex Vence

Jesse and Shelby have created a gym culture that is welcoming and supportive. As a woman in my 50’s that was just starting a dedicated bjj practice, I was looking for a place that had top notch instruction, and was also safe, clean and free of bro-culture nonsense. Thankfully, Rough Hands checked all those boxes and more. They meet you where you are regardless of skill level and truly will do all they can to help you meet your goals, and my neurodivergent son loves the kids classes. I really can’t say enough great things about Rough Hands!

I can ask a lot of questions and be a bit much when it comes to my kids but Coach Jesse and Coach Shelby are patient and never dismissive. They will also clarify technique and are very encouraging when any of their students seem disheartened. My kids love it here and look forward to every class!
