Good instructors and clean gym. Good mix of people who want to train hard or casually. They have an upstairs and downstairs mat space. There's a laundromat right next door, so one would be able to wash their dirty gear right after class

Incredible environment, although I have only been coming on and off for 2 months, I have noticed a change in my cardio and how I move, I think it has taught me to be more aware of where my body is at all times, Martin a nice and very good instructor and the people there are great as well, looking forward to coming back soon

RGW is an awesome gym with an amazing atmosphere, professor Martin is a wealth of knowledge who will take the time to watch you do your technique and help u master it down to the last detail. If you ask him a question about BJJ he will answer it very well thought and detailed. He will even at times give you certain drills to do specific to your needs and short comings in BJJ. He’s a coach who will take 5 minutes to watch you do your technique and tell u what to do step by step. They also often and regularly compete in BJJ competitions which in the last year brought home a ton of medals from different competitions over New York Coach Matt is the Muay Thai coach for RGW who is a very experienced striker who has trained under very talented striking coaches. His workouts and classes are very intense and will have you sweating and out of breath, he will also take the time to make sure you get every technique down to the last detail. He’s also a very funny guy who will make you laugh as you

Frequently Asked Questions

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO START TRAINING BJJ?

Not at all! Renzo Gracie Whitestone welcomes complete beginners. We offer introductory classes specifically designed to teach the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe, supportive environment. Everyone starts somewhere, and our coaches will guide you every step of the way.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic wear such as shorts and a rash guard works perfectly. Once you train regularly, you'll want a gi (BJJ uniform). We train gi here — our coaches can point you toward the right gear.

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Yes! We encourage you to try a class before committing. Contact Renzo Gracie Whitestone to schedule your complimentary intro class and experience our training environment for yourself.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN AS A BEGINNER?

Most beginners see strong progress training 2-3 times per week. Consistency matters more than volume early on. As your conditioning improves, many students increase to 4-5 sessions per week.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A BLUE BELT IN BJJ?

On average, dedicated students earn their blue belt in 1-2 years of consistent training. Progression depends on mat time, active learning, and open rolling. Each stripe reflects real skill growth.
