Reviews
Primate facilitates all skill levels, backgrounds and demographics. You’re going to get great instruction and great grappling no matter where you sit in experience. If you’re on the fence or a bit timid - this is the spot to ease your mind.
Primate is outstanding. Matt Vernon is a phenomenal instructor who stays on the cutting edge of jiu jitsu. There is also a focus on takedowns and mixing wrestling and Judo into grappling which sets this gym apart. Great culture, great atmosphere, great place to train.
Long overdue review. Spent a summer in Oklahoma for work and trained at Primate BJJ several times. Awesome experience/ great facility and great team. They are very welcoming. Highly recommend if you stop by or live in the area! Osss
Can’t say enough good things about Primate. I walked in a year ago with zero knowledge and experience in Jiu Jitsu. Coach Matt, Dane and Nick have been awesome and despite my terrible jiu jitsu, they continue to let me come back and have some fun. I look forward to seeing my friends at noon class every week, working hard and getting a great workout. As a dad/guy in my mid 30s, safety is important. The coaches do a great job making sure the gym is clean and people are rolling safely and respectfully. Joining Primate has been one of the best decisions I’ve made the past few years. If you’re on the fence, just pop in and check out a class. It’s always good times with good people.
I was in Tulsa for a business trip the week of July 28th and decided to do a $20 drop in class on July 31st. Everyone at Primate Jiu Jitsu were super friendly and welcoming, the instructors were on point teaching the class, and overall I had a great time. Great jiu jitsu gym and friendly welcoming environment for out of town visitors.
