Good school. Good training. Family oriented. Even better people running it. Lucky to have a Jiu Jitsu school of this caliber in Marshfield

I’ve been training at this BJJ gym for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. The environment is super welcoming — everyone here is down-to-earth, respectful, and genuinely supportive. Whether you’re brand new or have some experience, you’ll feel right at home. We train both gi and no-gi, which keeps things fresh and well-rounded. There’s a great mix of hard work and good vibes. Coach Josh is an incredible instructor — patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping every student improve. He has a great way of breaking things down and always makes time to answer questions or give extra pointers when needed. If you’re looking for a place to train that pushes you to grow while surrounding you with great people, I can’t recommend this place enough.

The classes are very reasonably priced and the instructors are caring yet firm when needed (needed for our kiddo at times). Our kiddo has been attending for 1.5 years and is learning valuable skills that can help out in daily life as well as the sport. Josh and Kendra are wonderful people and overall everyone is welcoming both of kiddos and parents.

Ozark Mountain BJJ is an awesome place to roll. I stopped in randomly for a Saturday class. Everyone was welcoming and the rolls were very controlled. The head instructor Josh filled several holes in my game. I basically got a private lesson for the cost of a mat fee. I'll be coming back soon!

We are absolutely grateful for the the excellent instruction our kids get each week. Wonderful teachers that truly care about what they are training, while also instilling discipline.

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Ozark Mountain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! Ozark Mountain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at Ozark Mountain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Ozark Mountain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
