Finding activities for your kiddo is always hit or miss. So my youngest son asked about trying martial arts classes. We didn’t have to search high and low because there was a studio near our home. The staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. My son LOVED his initial class, and we think our son will continue to take classes. Prices were reasonable and we look forward to attending future classes.

Wonderful gym with great instructors. After trying and not-getting-into a couple of different sports, we signed our son up for Mikido and he fell in love with it - he truly looked forward to going to each class and thrived in the positive-yet-disciplined environment that Master Brent fosters. For kids, each class seems to be a perfect mix of skill work, fun, fitness, explanation, and variety. It is challenging but safe, and the kids work hard to earn their belts - great for building confidence and perseverance. Great value too compared to other martial arts programs in the area. Highly recommend.

I did the Women’s Program, and this class was super super fun and very beginner friendly. The coach named Noor was incredible and so encouraging. It was my first time along with 2 other girls, and she made sure that we were comfortable and understood the basics of boxing. I was nervous about trying this class at first because I don’t have any prior fighting/boxing experience, but Noor seriously made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. She encouraged people to take breaks when they needed and there was absolutely no pressure to push yourself past what you could handle. She made my first experience 10/10!

I couldn't have been happier with my selection of a mixed martial arts gym. I initially joined to help improve my cardio and after 6 months I feel like I have accomplished that and so much more. The instructors are top notch and so are the athletes and other participants. I strongly recommend Mikido for kids and adults, beginners on up.

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at MiKiDo. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! MiKiDo welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at MiKiDo train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at MiKiDo. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
