The staff are super friendly and after 3 years since we signed our son (8yo now), I can say that they are part of the family. Our son built a confidence, strength, respect, and focusing. They have many side events and activities during valentines, Mother’s day, Father’s day, Halloween, summer camp and many others. Also, we noticed a many kids with special needs we developing and being part of the group.
I attend the mid-Michigan Academy of Martial Arts with my 2 children. We love the dojo and everyone there is super knowledgeable and helpful. It is an inclusive and accepting place and I am so glad we are part of the community. I started because I wanted a good workout and boy did I get it! I’ve lost 40lbs and feel much more safe. My kids are learning about discipline and working hard!
I am a big fan of this dojo. Last year I joined after a friend brought me to the change a life program they offered and it was an amazing experience. I've been wanting to find a place to get in some exercise and have people to talk with. If you find it hard to get motivated to exercise on your own in a gym, please consider joining this dojo or ask about attending a single class to see what its like. The instructors care a lot and will work with you. The more of yourself you give the more committed the instructors are towards you as a student. I've stayed after class to ask questions about forms or other self defense moves and found that is when the instructors really get into it with you. This place will make you work hard for your goals, and at times you may feel defeated if you can't perfect a move. But in those moments the instructors remind you of the wisdom of the week and help you push on. Its not just about training your body, but your mind as well. Truly I've had a wonderful experience with the staff here and the other students as well, and I feel closer towards my goal of a black belt.
Mid-Michigan Academy of Marital Arts and he American Advanced Combat System have been life changing and enhancing. The instructors, environment and fellow students of all backgrounds, levels and ages have contributed to my meeting and even surpassing goals of self-protection and fitness---and have been surprisingly impactful in my leadership, mental resilience and professional skills. All provided and given in fun and enjoyment. Anyone looking for marital arts learning and development to affect your life positively in any of these areas will be well-served----children, families and adults!
Such an awesome experience! Practical self-defense training, a great workout, and positive, helpful instructors. The best part is that it’s a Martial Arts school that teaches life skills and focuses on self-improvement. Through my training, I have developed more confidence, a much more positive attitude, and the belief that all obstacles can be overcome with proper mindset, preparation, and effort. I highly recommend the Mid-Michigan Academy. It will change your life!
