From my very first class, I felt welcomed and genuinely part of the McMahon family. ALL of the coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, and encouraging. They meet you exactly where you are—whether you’re stepping on the mats for the first time or preparing for an upcoming fight. Every session is structured, challenging, and fun. You can tell the coaches truly care about helping you grow both physically and mentally. The environment is positive, motivating, and full of people who push you to be your best. No matter your experience level or goals, this gym gives you everything you need to succeed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to train, improve, and feel at home.

We put our two boys in the Junior Grapplers and Little Champs programs about a month ago at McMahon, and the entire experience has been nothing short of amazing. Our boys attend three days a week, and the skills they’ve learned in just one month are incredible. What truly sets McMahon apart is the way every child is treated with the same patience, enthusiasm, and respect. The values and morals emphasized during training are something you don’t see very often, and it’s clear they care about building confident kids, not just teaching martial arts. Finnie, the owner, also takes time out of his day to talk with parents and get to know them, which really shows how much he cares about the students and their families. The professors and coaches deserve a huge shout-out as well. They genuinely take the time to break down skills in a way the kids understand, and they are incredibly encouraging and uplifting during every class. You can tell they truly love what they do—and it has made a huge difference in our kids’ confidence and growth. We are so appreciative of McMahon Training Center and highly recommend anyone considering martial arts for their kids, or even themself, to check them out and try a class!

I went here to learn Muay Thai for a couple months, but had to stop with scheduling difficulties on my end. But while I was there, McMahon really hit the spot when it comes to being simple and easy to learn. They were super welcoming, they made it feel safe and comfortable to go there as a young woman. I would highly recommend them as a first timer, or just in general.

As a parent, I can confidently say that McMahon training center has been an incredible place for my son to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also patient and supportive, creating a positive environment where my son feels encouraged to push himself and grow. They have a fantastic understanding of how to work with kids, tailoring the training to their age and abilities, while still building confidence and discipline. The classes are fun and engaging, and the community of students is welcoming and supportive. I've seen a huge improvement in my son's coordination, focus, and overall self-esteem since he started training here. If you're looking for a top-notch BJJ training center for you or your child, look no further than McMahon training center.

This is THE best martial arts school in Fort Collins. The professors and coaches are top notch and will push you to your best potential. Every class, I learn something new. The people at the gym are like family and truly supportive. A great place to push yourself physically, strengthen mentally, and find a silent warrior inside yourself. Thank you, McMahon.

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at McMahon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! McMahon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at McMahon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at McMahon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
