Reviews
I joined Legacy back in June, and I’m genuinely grateful I did. From day one, the environment has been welcoming, supportive, and respectful—no ego, just people who truly care about training and helping each other improve. The coaching at Legacy is outstanding. Coach Rader, a two-time BJJ world champion, leads the gym, and learning from him is an incredible opportunity. He’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, and attentive, and there’s so much you can learn from his experience, whether you’re brand new or more advanced. I’ve felt encouraged to learn at my own pace while still being challenged, which has made a huge difference in my confidence and progress. The culture here is what really stands out: friendly teammates, a clean space, and a strong sense of community. Walking into Legacy always feels like a positive part of my day. If you’re looking for a BJJ gym where you can learn, grow, and feel supported, I can’t recommend Legacy enough.
Excellent program and excellent coaching! Justin Rader has developed an outstanding program to teach not only the physical but the mental aspects of MMA. It offers the kids the opportunity to learn mixed martial arts while also learning respect, discipline, leadership, confidence. My twin girls love it there! I have nothing but great things to say about Legacy Martial Arts!
Cannot recommend Legacy Martial Arts enough! My son and I have both been taking classes for a few months now. From the parent perspective- First Professor Rader is an incredible teacher. And he has brought up several excellent junior coaches through the program since they were little ones. They are great examples for the kids to chase after! The environment is disciplined but still fair and fun! My son has gained a lot of confidence, self-control, and has made a ton of friends in his time there. As an adult student- The coaches and the environment are what makes this place great! The coaches are great at explaining these movements clearly and show a genuine interest in our progress. And they each give great details on techniques from their own perspectives for us to think about and try as we are learning. Everyone is welcoming and always trying to just help each other get better.
Our son has been going here for almost a year now and we have seen a lot of great changes in him, obviously he still has his moments but hey he’s still a kid. He always gets excited to go. Professor Rader teaches the kids in a way that they listen well and can comprehend what he is doing. The kids respect him highly. I’m so glad we chose Legacy over the other martial arts facilities and I am so thankful for the instructors for not giving up on my sometimes stubborn boy. I truly believe our son will continue to learn many new things here and we are glad to be a part of the Legacy community.
Professor Rader has created an amazing martial arts program for both kids and adults at Legacy Martial Arts. My daughter began training a little over two years ago and it has been huge for her. Her martial arts progress has been incredible to watch, but it’s not just that; on top of the highest-level martial arts instruction, Professor Rader also incorporates life lessons and is trying to build not only top-notch martial artists but also great (i.e. disciplined, responsible, respectful, confident, mentally tough, etc.) humans and future leaders in our community. Going in, I knew she would get high-level martial arts instruction but when I saw all of the rest that he does it really sealed the deal. There’s no doubt in my mind that Legacy has the best kid’s program in the state, probably much further beyond. I’ve since started training at Legacy myself in the adult program and I cant say enough good things. I never would have guessed jiu-jitsu would be so much fun and the professors, coaches, and other students are simply awesome. I’m so happy to have found the Legacy community and am proud and grateful to be a part of it!
