About Legacy Jiu Jitsu

At Legacy Jiu Jitsu, we've been building a strong martial arts community in Anchorage since 2016, offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, Wrestling, and MMA in an environment that fosters personal growth and confidence in every student who walks through our doors.

Our instructors — including Niko Novelli and Danny Chong on the mats — bring competitive experience and a genuine passion for teaching. We are a proud affiliate of the Ares BJJ Association, training under the methods that have produced champions at every level. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or preparing for your next competition, Legacy is the place to grow.

We believe in the words of Theodore Roosevelt: "The Art of Jiu-Jitsu is worth more in every way than all of our athletics combined." That philosophy drives every class we teach. Adults train traditional Gi and No-Gi jiu-jitsu at multiple levels, while our youth programs — including Kids Jiu-Jitsu, Kids No-Gi, and Kids Muay Thai — build confidence and discipline in the next generation.

Located at 501 West International Airport Rd Suite 28, we welcome athletes of all backgrounds. Come train with us and leave a Legacy on and off the mat.

Awesome place to take your kids. All of the instructors are very patient, professional, and are great at motivating people. My kids have been going here for 3 months and you can definitely tell the difference in their skills, health, and athleticism.

Yes. Legacy Jiu Jitsu is a proud affiliate of the Ares BJJ Association, meaning our students train under proven methodology and have access to a wider network of training partners and seminars.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Absolutely. We run Kids Jiu-Jitsu (Gi and No-Gi), Kids Muay Thai, and Youth Wrestling programs. Youth classes are structured to build confidence, discipline, and coordination in a safe environment.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience is needed. Our beginner-friendly classes start with fundamentals so you can learn at your own pace. Everyone was a white belt once — we welcome you wherever you are.
