I trained at Kogaion Academy for almost two months and had an excellent experience. Víctor and Beatrice were extremely welcoming and accommodating, and they prorated my membership without any issues. Beatrice taught most of my classes and provided outstanding instruction with a well structured and engaging class format. The Sunday competition class is excellent and valuable for everyone, not just competitors. The students at the academy were also very welcoming and friendly. Everyone demonstrates high-level jiu-jitsu while maintaining a positive and respectful environment that makes it easy to feel part of the team. If I return to the DC area, I will definitely train at Kogaion Academy again. Thank you Kogaion!
Kogaion Academy is such a wonderful place to train! Whether you are young or an adult, you will find something for you! Victor and Beatrice are both extremely knowledgeable in their crafts of Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! They are so very humble, yet they have the hardware to back up their instruction! They provide a safe space to train where the safety and respect are a priority! Our teens have learned so much from both of them and they have excelled in just a few months under their teaching! We appreciate them both for their patience and dedication to our girls improvement! We highly recommend the Academy!
Kogaion Academy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Judo has truly changed my kids' lives. Currently, four of them are enrolled, each starting at age four, one after the other. Their confidence and strength have skyrocketed thanks to this incredible program. We’ve felt like part of the Kogaion family for five wonderful years, and I can wholeheartedly say that the coaches are outstanding—patient, talented, and genuinely caring. My kids absolutely adore them. The class structure thoughtfully guides children—from the shyest to the most confident—helping them grow their skills at their own pace. I especially love how Jiu-Jitsu teaches my kids to stay alert and defend themselves, valuable skills that transfer into everyday life. And guess what? The coaches have even earned gold medals at national championships!
The best place to learn and excel at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the DMV! Coaches Victor and Bea have created an environment that emphasizes strong fundamentals, technical precision, and safety—while remaining incredibly welcoming to practitioners of all levels. I trained at another gym in the area before switching to Kogaion nine months into my journey, and my skills and enjoyment of the sport improved immediately. The culture at Kogaion is second to none, with members who are genuinely friendly, supportive, and invested in each other’s growth.
Beatrice walks the walk when it comes to creating real spaces for women to train competitively. The energy at Kogiaon is as loving and welcoming as it is competitive. And Beatrice is a phenomenal instructor, too.
