My 7 and 9 year-olds have been part of the John Wai family since they were each 3 years old. The take their training seriously and they love it! As a mom who wants only the best for her kids, enrolling them here is one of the best things I've ever done for them. Thank you to all the coaches who help grow our children into better people everyday!
I’ve been training at John Wai for a few years now, and it truly feels like a second home to me. I’m incredibly proud to be a student at this mixed martial arts academy. The coaches here are amazing, and the people you train with quickly become like family. Coach Moe and his brother Daniel are extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful in the way they teach. They take the time to break things down and really care about helping everyone improve. Coach David is one of the most respectful and kindest coaches I’ve ever met. If you’re looking for a place to train, grow, and be part of a great community, this is the best academy in South Florida.
The first part that everyone should know is, the sense of community and warm welcomes from coaches , people training, and just everyone there made joining a martial arts gym for the first time amazing. I was intimidated at first, but everyone helped me get over that fear quickly. The coaches are constantly communicating with everyone even in the group classes so, as a newcomer I didn’t feel lost. The kickboxing class , is more fitness based according to them, but they still help teach you form and teach you proper technique. The Mauy Thai class was amazing as well. At 36 years old I was hesitant on joining, now I can’t stop thinking about when my next class is. Highly recommended John Wai for all skill levels and all people. Amazing people here.
Started 8 months ago. 2 week trial for 15 bucks is a great way to get a vibe for the classes. Now I'm hooked, doing 6-10 classes a week. I got my kids started, too. Being able to train in different styles is awesome. The kids get a really well rounded experience. The coaches are fantastic. All with immense experience. You can go for fun and exercise or get more serious and start competing. Great family atmosphere, at the same time. Very happy here!
