Very welcoming. High level instruction. 10/10 would recommend for a day 1 or a competitive black belt.
Dropped in for a class while out of town and had a great experience. Jamie, the owner, was a great host and everyone were friendly and great to train with. We had a small group and were heading back home, they do have a shower if you’re traveling or heading somewhere after training. Overall it was a great atmosphere and a solid training session—I’d definitely drop in again and would recommend the gym to anyone looking for a good place to train.
Even though we pass several other schools on our way here, we wouldn't take our son anywhere else. Professor John is truly amazing with my 4-yr-old and the rest of the class. He knows how to keep the attention of kids at this age group and is also very talented with martial arts. Jamie and Erica make the location feel very welcome and are helpful for any inquiries we bring up. The location has a great variety of times for all groups to help include everyone regardless of their busy schedule. It won't be long until I join along-side my son so we can enjoy it together as a family!
My son, Oliver, has been attending Gracie Jiu Jitsu at Milton for three weeks now. We enrolled him because he was quite shy and struggled to speak up, so we felt a physical activity would help a four-year-old gain confidence. It turns out we were right. The academy led by Jamie and Erica is excellent; they are always prompt and helpful with our inquiries. Beyond their professionalism, they have such good hearts—which is clearly shown through their history of leading mission trips. It is wonderful to be in an environment managed by people with such strong values. In particular, I want to highlight his teacher, Professor John. He truly knows how to communicate with children. My son is only four years old, so maintaining his attention span can be a challenge, but Professor John is incredible at keeping him focused and "in check." He is remarkably patient and knows exactly when to reward my son for doing well. Professor John has a great heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He is "brave" in his teaching style—he isn't afraid to lead with the firm, clear guidance that young boys need to build character. While teachers at other places might be hesitant to speak up, Professor John’s approach is exactly what young boys needs. I highly recommend this school to any parent with a young child. If you want your child to be successful at building confidence and learning how to be a good human being, this is the place to be.
