About Granite City MMA

At Granite City MMA, we are building a premier martial arts community in Johnson, Vermont — a place where men, women, and children of all ages and sizes can develop real self-defense skills and reach their fitness goals. Our gym offers subscription-based martial arts instruction with personalized attention for every student, including family packages for those training together.

We believe that martial arts training is for everyone. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the very first time or looking to sharpen existing skills, Granite City MMA provides a welcoming and structured training environment in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom region.

I love going to Granite City, everyone is welcoming and kind, the coaches there are very knowledgeable and helpful. When I first started going I had no idea what I was doing and was very nervous about starting something new, but everyone there was and still are supportive and helpful it makes learning very fun and enjoyable. I’ve been training there for almost a year and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon!

Granite City made a big difference in my move to Vermont. This community is tightly knit and pushes people of all ages and kinds to succeed. Sexism is rampant in all kinds of combat sports that I've participated in and can make it really hard to be taken seriously, but Lucas creates an environment that breeds collaboration and respect. He teaches a unique, effective and adaptive style that I've been able to appreciate especially after branching out to new gyms in the SF Bay Area and more strictly traditional teaching. I'm grateful for the time I had at Granite City and recommend it to anyone staying in the Montpelier area or to anyone just passing through.

Granite City MMA is an incredible facility. Granite City MMA offers a judgement free , super clean and welcoming, wide variety of knowledgeable arts. There is a spot here for everyone regardless of age, gender or skill. You can be pushed physically and mentally to reach that next level you’re looking for to better your self. Everyone is a human here and has a sense of humor! Very welcoming to kids of all ages. The kids classes are top notch! Do your self a favor, stop waiting, if you’re in the area check the facility out. First class of each art is always so free. Prepare to sweat, work hard and have a good laugh! I’ve been to other gyms over my time with training in martial arts, and have never felt so welcomed or included. Amazing teacher you learn a lot if you wanna learn how to fight and defend this is the place BRUTALITY is deffentily a aspect but with kind trainers it makes a wonderful gym
