I’ve been training at Relson Gracie Combat Club at Spire for over 2 years with my husband, and it’s been incredible! Brad, Cody, and the instructors are world-class—knowledgeable, supportive, and motivating. As a woman, it’s empowering to train alongside so many amazing ladies and families in a safe, fun, and competitive environment. Beyond BJJ, the gym offers boxing/kickboxing and Muay Thai classes, making it perfect for all-around martial arts training. Whether you’re rolling, striking, or prepping for competition, this community is welcoming, inspiring, and a true Jiu-Jitsu family!

Highly recommend Relson Gracie Combat Club at Spire in Geneva. My wife and I have been training for about a year and a half with Brad and Cody and can’t ask for better instructors. The environment is very family friendly while also ensuring we get a great workout and improve our training in BJJ. It’s not only great for guys but women and children. I highly recommend everyone take advantage of the free 2-week trial, you’ll be so happy you did.

I've trained with Cody off and on for 10 years and he is very knowledgeable in several areas of combat sports. He is willing to help out all levels of skill and one of the most patient people I know. The facility is immaculate. Mat space for days. And the people that train with him become almost like family. Would recommend if you live in the upper Ohio, Geneva area.

Cody is an excellent instructor and willing to work with everyone in your family. The kickboxing classes are fun and one incredible workout. My entire family has felt comfortable and we all learned a great deal here. I encourage anyone thinking of boxing or kickboxing to go here and try it out. The classes are small and that makes learning much more intense.

My kids train with coach Tony and coach Koa. This is the best jiu jitsu academy in north east Ohio. The coaches are very skilled and my boys love the training they receive. Classes are free to try out and a must dor anybody looking into martial arts.

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

Absolutely. We invite all prospective students to try their first class free at Gracie Orwell Jiu Jitsu Academy. It's the best way to experience our training environment, meet our coaches, and see if BJJ is right for you. No experience or equipment needed — comfortable athletic clothing is fine.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?

No experience necessary! Gracie Orwell Jiu Jitsu Academy welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?

For your first visit, comfortable athletic clothing works perfectly — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. Once you commit to training regularly, you'll want to invest in a gi (kimono). Our coaches can recommend quality options at a range of price points.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?

Most students at Gracie Orwell Jiu Jitsu Academy train 2 to 3 times per week and see consistent progress. Showing up regularly matters far more than training intensely once in a while. We offer multiple class times throughout the week so you can find a schedule that fits your life.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR KIDS?

Yes! We offer dedicated programs for children and teens at Gracie Orwell Jiu Jitsu Academy. Our youth classes focus on discipline, respect, confidence-building, and the fundamentals of BJJ in a safe, fun environment.
