Reviews
Sensai Brown is the best! We are thankful for his ability to connect with each kid and implore them to learn and have fun too! We have taken our kids to mighty nights and the next class up and he does great with small groups and large groups of kids. He knows their names, he helps them learn the moves, and is very positive with them. What a great Centerville local martial arts! Glad he exists! Glad we found the location. Glad his schedule enables kids to be able to attend! He welcomes all levels of knowledge and personalities. Shy, energetic, or calm, he does great!
Sensei Brown is FANTASTIC with our 3 kids (9, 11, 13). His interaction with all of the kids is incredible to see. The kids respect him and love coming to Martial Arts 3-4 time per week. He gives great feedback for improvement and gives incredible energy to their success. They know they have EARNED their success when they test. We LOVE having our kids at Brown Institute and will continue to have them here for the foreseeable future.
Couldn't recommend a better facility than this one. Sensei Brown made me feel very welcome and at home since the very beginning as I was super nervous, never having experienced a Martial Arts gym with just a wrestling background. He provides a lot a things that other institutes don't, like a pretty versatile weightlifting gym in a separate area. Very family feeling, and he instructs in a way that doesn't make you feel like just a number.
Learning the arts from Master Brown was a privilege I never earned or apriciated till Iv grown older. The greatest Masters hes trained with.. the experiences simply washes over you. Great teacher! π
This dojo offers multiple classes for all ages. My experience is with the children's class. As a martial artist and parent, I researched/audited four other dojos in the area before finding Brown Institute. Sensei Brown is one of the best instructors for children I've ever encountered, he is both professional and engaging. My children have asked me to bring them to class regularly for 5 years now! His philosophy mirrors my own of Bushido - gifting students with positive attitude, self confidence and effective self-defense.

IS THERE A FREE TRIAL CLASS?

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START?
No experience necessary! Brown Institute welcomes complete beginners. Our instructors break down every technique step by step, and our community is known for being welcoming and patient with new students. Everyone starts as a white belt, and that's exactly where you should start too.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
